A slew of exciting announcements

[ Edited ]

Today’s the big day, Rebels!

Our April update will be making its way to you over the air starting today. Here’s what to expect:

  • Marshmallow 6.0.1, including the April security patch and of course the expanded emoji set.
  • Additional processor tuning bringing you better battery life and better performance.
  • New camera tuning and a completely overhauled camera app for faster (much faster), better pictures.
  • All new sound tuning at the driver level by Arkamys. Now Robin sounds clearer both through the built-in dual speakers and the headset jack - even when you have the volume cranked up.

Don’t stop the music

To celebrate our new improved audio performance, we’re announcing a special collaboration with AIAIAI. We’ve specced out a custom set of TMA-2 headphones especially for Robin and they go on sale today. AIAIAI are kindred spirits, they offer great design and performance at a great price. The Nexbit x AIAIAI TMA-2 uses a powerful, high-sensitivity neodymium speaker unit that delivers a vibrant and detailed sound, with dynamic bass and crisp treble. It has a durable low profile headband and comfortable over-ear PU leather earpads for maximum style; and for Robin style, it includes a mint cable with one button and mic. They’re available today from Nextbit.com for $225.

Robin sings new tunes

AIAIAI and Nextbit have collaborated on more than just a set of headphones. We are launching our curated ringtone series, in which we partner up with selected musical artists to tailor make tones that soothe the otherwise occasionally disturbing world of smartphone notifications. The only guidance to the DJs was to create something that feels harmonious with the design ethos of AIAIAI and Nextbit.

The series will feature artists and sounds chosen by AIAIAI, and the first two 'tracks’ are by the renowned DJs Giraffage (Breeze) and Lauren Lo Sung (Patricia). The ringtones can be downloaded now from the Nextbit community blog.

Tell your friends

Buying a Robin in the US just got a whole lot easier. It’s available on Amazon now - and featured on Launchpad, a storefront featuring products from today's brightest Startups. Same great price, free shipping for Prime members.

The cherry on top

We just found out Robin has won a Red Dot design award. You already knew it looks pretty cool. Turns out the pros agree.
