Android Pay

Anyone know if Android Pay will work out of the box? With other phones I've owned, Android Pay does not work with an unlocked bootloader. And the Robin comes with the bootloader already unlocked, right?

It will be easy enough to test once I have the Robin in my hands, but I'm a CDMA backer, so I've got a while before I'll get my Robin.

Re: Android Pay

Based on information from the site, it seems that the bootloader isn't unlocked by default, you'll still have to unlock it.

It's stated in the "Unconditionally yours" section of the following link:

Yes android pay will work out of the box. Unlocked bootloaders do not stop android pay. It is root which stops android pay! Smiley Happy

Re: Android Pay

I wish that was the case, but I've had multiple un-rooted phones where Android Pay didn't function properly because they had an unlocked bootloader.

Darragh, Android Pay does not work (at least correctly) out of the box. For me anyways. See the attached image... I am trying to set up a new Payment Method, and the following message is displayed. Not sure yet why...

Re: Android Pay

If you are using a beta version the Android pay app will not work because it need a real version for the task...
