ROM: https://dl.omnirom.org/ether/

Gapps: any you want

Current Bugs:
- None that I can find

Notable Changes:
- SIGNATURE SPOOFING!
- Omni allows signature spoofing for apps (you CAN use microG on Omni!)
- Wifi is no longer a module, a built-in kernel driver is now utilized (qcacld-2.0, like the Nexus 5X)
- A bunch of other stuff I have totally forgotten. See for yourself!

Omni only supports TWRP recovery, use any alternate recovery at your own risk.

[ Edited ]

OP updated with a link to an android-7.0 test build (and, from what I can tell, the first Nougat build for Robin available ANYWHERE! Smiley Very Happy)

DOWNLOAD HERE

You must flash the 1450 stock firmware to get the updated partitions on your device prior to flashing this.

I recommend using OpenGapps (package of your choosing)

What's still broken:

  • Camera will force-close when you try to zoom in
  • Camcorder is actually recording the "recording start" tone
  • I think GPS is flaky (haven't tested it)
  • Wifi Calling (it doesn't work on stock 1450 either)
  • Probably some other stuff I haven't noticed yet

These are mainly minor annoyances that I will fix in the next day or so.

Notable Changes:

- This is using my [new] kernel, not based on CyanogenMod's kernel whatsoever.
- The device tree is an ugly hybrid derived from the CyanogenMod tree. I will eventually roll into my own device tree when I have the energy to do so

- Wifi is no longer a module, but uses a built-in kernel driver (qcacld-2.0, like the Nexus 5X)

Re: Omni for Nextbit Robin [PRE-NIGHTLY] 20161025 [NOUGAT/Android-7.0]

Hey jakew02 , First of all , Thanks for this awesome port.

I flashed it last night and i dodn't understand why you would have called it Pre-Nightly build ! I mean this ROM is so stable. I haven't seen any force closes and all.

Few app closes which you have told are okay , they are going to be there but afterall, overall performance and stability of the ROm is great. I even managed to get Google assistant integration into it.

One of the eligent thing I liked in this is how beautifully music player responds to incoming notifications. I mean lot of ROMS do that , thoey just minimise the sound for a while but generally that happens very quick . i mean for other roms , sound goes to 0, stays for a while and suddenly comes back to last running volume...What I loved is, omni doesn;t do that. it gradually goes on decreasing sound and then gradually increases it. looks like im describing a lot but its really great experience for you ears.

This thing even shows the seriousness of Omni ROM devs towards their work.

Anyways, I haven't forund much problem with battery backup and all. Its more than enough.

Once again , thanks for omni 7.0

Been using it for about a day now and I have a couple things to say about it; 1) using another camera (ie, Google camera or sideloading the Nextbit camera) you can zoom in fine, and recording video works great too.. 2) not sure if this was an intended feature or not but for some time after I lock the phone I can just apply the finger to the sensor and it'll detect it and unlock. handy in some situations but... after I lock the phone, many times it'll immediately reunlock from the fingerprint being detected. Everything else works GREAT. I've had no issues and am loving Nougat! Great work!
