Re: Nextbit Robin Factory Images

@Khang maybe I'm wrong, could you please check with someone from the team? Isn't it necessary to "oem unlock" the device in order to use any fastboot command?
Thanks

Unlocking the device is necessary for fastboot. @david

I can confirm this.

I do not work for Nextbit; I am an expert on the product though. PM if needed.

Contact me through PM if I am needed.

Re: Nextbit Robin Factory Images

So, will this also wipe data assuming it's similar to that of the Nexus updates, unless you do it by yourself? If not, time to update and hope it works coming directly from root!

Re: Nextbit Robin Factory Images

@PhlexPlexico it's not an update installer, it's a factory image installer,so yes, it'll wipe your data (I think)

Yeah, understandable! I know for Nexus factory images if you actually remove one command line option it preserves your data, so I downloaded it and will check after work!

However! [DeXter] (SP) on XDA released a flashable zip for TWRP users! So if you're wary of unrooting or wiping your device, head over to his thread and he has a link for the latest build!!

Also @Khang a question for you guys at Nextbit! Are you guys going to do more OTA releases before releasing images online? Or are you gonna follow the route of releasing the images online, then pushing an OTA update?

@david It's the other way around Smiley Happy. It's necessary to use fastboot commands to OEM unlock.

Re: Nextbit Robin Factory Images

So, @Steev, you can do "fastboot flash" in a device with the bootloader locked?
Thanks
