Re: Nextbit Robin Factory Images

@saif01212 have you tried using a different cable? Have you used adb/fastboot before in your computer?

Re: Nextbit Robin Factory Images

@saif01212 ok so maybe you should try flashing the factory images manually first. You know how to do that?

Re: Nextbit Robin Factory Images

Hey guys, I need to get my Robin back to stock to update to the October update. I am rooted, stock. So to update without any bootloops, I need to flash the stock recovery and the stock image correct? By doing so, will it wipe my Robin (i.e. apps, app data, bluetooth profiles, etc.)? If it does wipe it, is there a way for me to back up my phone (like a nandroid backup) and once I update the phone, bring it back to the same exact way it was before? I can use titanium backup, but even then there is a fair bit of setting up of the phone to do.

Thanks

You could try to use titanium backup ONLY to back up your apps and app data (I did this once). So flash the OTA via the file I provided in the tools section under Android Development. Then root it, then reinstall Titanium backup and only restore the apps. I think in theory it should work this way. During set up, do NOT set up via smart storage or Google.

If you're already rooted and your current ROM is working fine and you'd like to update without losing any data, just flash my stock-ROM zip from TWRP recovery. This is a 100% stock, unmodified Robin image, presented in a friendly flashable format.

To preserve root though, make sure you flash your root zips and mods afterwards. When you reboot back into the system, everything should work normally. Smiley Happy

Note: For future OTA updates, you could simply use Chainfire's FlashFire app to apply an OTA when you're rooted. Basically after you get the OTA download notification and you're ready to install, just open up FlashFire and it should automatically detect the OTA and will offer to flash it. Please note that this will only work if your /system is unmodified (ie, you're running a 100% systemless root setup).

Disclaimer: As always, please ensure that you have a backup of your existing ROM/EFS and all important data.
